About Hawkesbury Jets Representative Program

Hawkesbury & District Basketball Association (HDBA) is proud to showcase the talents and skills of its members by participating in Basketball NSW’s Waratah Representative Program.

Junior Jets Representative

The HDBA Junior Jets Representative program is a fantastic opportunity for our younger members to develop new skills and bring their game to a whole new level by participating in Basketball NSW’s Waratah Junior League!

In 2024, HDBA had both a girls’ and a boys’ team in each age group for U12s, U14s, U16s, and U18s with five of our eight junior teams make the semi-finals. From there, our U12 Girls and U14 Boys went through to the Grand Final with U14 Boys winning their Grand Final.  Our U12 Girls and U16 Boys then headed to the Basketball NSW State Cup.

In 2025, HDBA has grown to 12 junior teams with a girls’ and a boys’ team in each age group for U12s, U14s, U16s (2 teams each), and U18s.

Senior Jets Representative

In 2024, HDBA entered an U20 Men in the Barrengarry Competition as well as a Youth League Men (U22) team in Basketball NSW’s Waratah Senior League. Travelling across the state, it is a chance for some of our more experienced and skilled players to represent our Association and further develop their game through quality competition.

In 2025, HDBA has grown to two Youth League Men teams to represent our association across the state.

Held in September and October each year, this five (5) week program is a fantastic opportunity to develop the skills necessary to prepare our players for the following year’s Hawkesbury Jets Representative Trials.

Available exclusively for our existing HDBA players only (both domestic and representative), the Jets Pre-Rep Training Program is run by our Directors of Coaching, Matt Stephenson and Cleo Pickard, in conjunction with our Representative Coaches.

Check back later in the year for the 2025 Jets Pre-Rep Training dates.

Representative Trials

Each November, HDBA holds team trials over three (3) weeks from U12 to Seniors, for both men and women, to enter into the various representative leagues in NSW.

Check back later in the year for the Trial dates for the 2026 season.

Any player who has previously played representative basketball in one of the Waratah Junior Leagues (JPL, MJL, NEJL, SJL or WJL) who is wanting to trial for representative basketball with another association in one of the Waratah Junior Leagues (i.e. the last time you played representative basketball you did not play for the association you wish to trial for) must complete a Basketball NSW Junior Player Intent to Trial Form.

Note that this is NOT A CLEARANCE and players may not play in any Basketball NSW conducted competitions without a processed clearance.

Once this form is submitted all associations involved and Basketball NSW will receive an email notifying them of your application.
